È dal 1927 lo start per tutti gli acquisti natalizi negli USA. Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade parte dalla 77esima strada per passare a Central Park, Columbus Circle fino alla 34esima Strada ed Herald Square dove si trova Macy’s. Una processione laica del consumismo fatta di carri allegorici e pupazzi gonfiabili che ben interpretata anche dai Green Day con Macy’s Day Parade nel 2001. Calendario commerciale che poi si costruisce intorno al Black Friday e più di recente si è aggiunto Cyber Monday, il giorno dedicato agli acquisti di tecnologia.
